Class Descriptions

Welcome to your journey of self-discovery through yoga. At the heart of yoga is the understanding that peace and calm reside within us, waiting to be uncovered. While it may take time to connect with this inner tranquility, each person’s path is beautifully unique. With a variety of yoga styles available, I encourage you to explore the descriptions below to find the class that best suits your needs. Embrace this journey with an open heart and mind, as growth often comes from gently pushing beyond our challenges. We’re here to support you every step of the way—let’s embark on this transformative experience together.

Traditional 26 (no Music):

Heated to 105°, Traditional 26 consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. These poses are practiced in the same order each time as they warm and stretch specific muscles, ligaments, and joints.

Regular practice benefits are many, including mental clarity, stress relief, and disease prevention. You will feel challenged by this class. Everyone does! We invite you to find the balance of engagement and relaxation. Work to your edge and go deeper while honoring your body. You are always welcome to rest or drink water when you need to. The series is designed for all levels, first time students, and experienced practitioners alike. There is no music in this class.

Note: One unique aspect of the absence of music is that it allows for a deeper connection with the present moment. By practicing in silence, we learn to become more attuned to our breath, our body, and the subtle shifts within, fostering greater mindfulness and self-awareness. This approach encourages us to cultivate inner stillness, helping to build resilience against external noise and distractions, both on and off the mat.

Hatha & Flow Yoga

Hatha + Flow (no Music):

This is an all-levels yoga class incorporating foundational poses, introducing flowing from pose to pose. This hot class (105 degrees) offers time to embrace aspects of yoga at a pace that encourages awareness of the connections of mind, body and spirit. Class begins gradually, allowing the body to acclimate to the heat and quiet the mind. The combination of asana (finding and holding poses), pranayama (focused breathing) and vinyasa (moving with breath) deepens the practice and offers time to refine your body’s unique version of each pose.

Slow Flow Yoga

Slow Flow (Music):

This warm inviting class combines flowing movement and breath in a calm, sweet vinyasa practice. This class consists of Sun Salutations, standing postures, balancing poses, twists, basic inversions, and always ends with a deep, relaxing savasana. Slow Flow is perfect for students who want to learn more about Vinyasa and flowing, the poses (asanas), explore breath work and meditation, or just slow down and deepen into their practice. Emphasis is given to aligning breath and movement, slowing down and paying attention, and relaxing into your own body. While this class is a slower pace than Flow, it will still challenge and inspire you to deepen your practice. There is music in this class.

Vinyasa Hot Yoga

Vinyasa 1 (Music):

Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” Though this practice may feel as though it moves at a faster pace, Vinyasa focuses on linking the breath with movement and is often referred to as a moving meditation. The poses flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath. Build strength, increase flexibility, find focus, and have fun.  You don’t have to know the poses to start–just try it out and after a few classes, you’ll be hooked. Allow yourself the gift of exploring possibilities you didn’t even know you had. These classes feature sun salutations and sequences designed to be both challenging and restorative, leaving you feeling strong and refreshed. Vinyasa classes are suitable for all experience levels, and variations are offered for beginners and experienced yogis alike. This practice is done in 100° and music.

Yin Yoga

Yin (gentle) Yoga (Music):

Stretch, relax and let go. This slow-paced, therapeutic style of yoga is comprised of more passive poses, mainly done on the floor with bolsters, blocks and straps as needed. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes allowing the gentle opening and stretching in the body and ultimately resulting in an artful practice of opening and letting go mentally, physically, and emotionally. Room heated to 90°-95°.
